The Santa Rosa Board of County Commissioners has provided grant funding to the Early Learning Coalition for providers not currently under contract with the Coalition to choose from a list of supplies and materials to assist in areas where you may be impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic. All materials will be received by December 30, 2020 and will include items in three categories:
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Sanitation supplies and services; and/or
  • Equipment/supplies to promote social distancing, all in an effort to slow or prevent the transmission. This category includes toys that are obtained to promote distanced play, learning, or supplies that facilitate effective cleaning and sanitizing
The Early Learning Coalition has compiled an extensive pre-approved “wish list” of materials from which to choose. The amount a provider may “spend” is based on the provider’s capacity as currently shown in the Department of Children and Families Cares portal. The chart below outlines the amount available for each provider.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Facility is currently listed in the CARES system as a legally operating licensed, licensed exempt, or registered childcare facility in the Department of Children and Families.
  • On the day of completing the application, the program serves children younger than 13 and provides full-time childcare (6 hours or more daily).
  • Facility is currently in compliance with all COVID-19 health and safety protocols set forth by the State and County.
  • Facility must have a completed Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Profile in the Early Learning Coalition of Santa Rosa County's portal in order to submit an application.
Grant Details:
  • When ordering, providers must ensure that items will not be stockpiled, such as excessive amounts of cleaner, hand-sanitizer, etc.
  • Provider may choose from a variety of items from six different vendors. The Coalition will make every effort to fill orders as requested; however, if certain items become unavailable, the Coalition will contact the provider for alternate selections but also reserves the right to make similar substitutions when necessary.
  • All items will be shipped to the Coalition office. Providers will be notified upon delivery and are responsible for picking up their items by appointment.
  • Deadline: Application and Order Forms must be received by November 4, 2020. Please email both forms to Michelle Mock at or fax to 850-916-5423. Questions? Call Michelle at 850-916-4173.
