Becoming a School Readiness Provider

The Early Learning Coalition of Santa Rosa County contracts with local child care centers and family child care homes to provide quality early education and child care to eligible families. Providers must meet specific standards for developmentally appropriate practices, as well as health and safety regulations. Please call 850-983-5335 for more information.

Providers wishing to contract with the Coalition will be given a School Readiness Contract application.

Once the application is received by the Coalition, staff will conduct a pre-site visit at the Provider location. The provider must receive a passing score to be eligible to contract. If the provider does not receive a passing score, the provider has the opportunity to make corrections and schedule a follow-up visit. After the second visit, if all issues have not been reconciled, the Provider must wait six months to reapply.

All contracted providers must use a curriculum approved by the Florida Division of Early Learning.

All Providers must adhere to the health and safety requirements as stated by the Department of Children and Families and the County Health Department of Florida.

The Early Learning Coalition offers a wide variety of training and workshops. Please visit our training section for more information.

Teachers have three loves: love of learning, love of learners, and the love of bringing the first two loves together.
